Welcome

“Pupils enjoy a range of opportunities that build their independence and confidence.”

Children are “….polite and respectful to adults. They are proud members of the school community.”

(Ofsted - December 2022)

A warm welcome to The Revel CofE Primary School. We are so glad you have found our on-line home and trust you can find the information you need quickly and simply. We always welcome visits to the school and our approachable office staff are standing by to help in any way they can.

As a school, we are totally committed to the safety, welfare and education of your child. To achieve this, we believe that working within a clear, positive and mutually supportive partnership between home and school is absolutely essential. Our strong desire is to equip your child for a future we can currently only dream of. This means providing them with the knowledge they need to be able to thrive, the skills they need to be able to succeed and the values they need in order to become sociable citizens of of our society.

We are proud that our passionate team of dedicated staff share this commitment and work tirelessly to ensure a clear curriculum demonstrates progression, rigour and command which is continually measured and monitored by the impact it is having.

Our values and ethos is based upon those historically promoted by the Church of England. Our proud Christian heritage and distinctiveness sets us apart whilst sitting comfortably alongside the 21st century values of inclusiveness, tolerance and respect.

Our school is run by human beings who invest time, energy, passion and pride into their work. As such, from time to time we may get things wrong. We highly value those who work with us and who make us aware of areas in which we can improve, but who do so within the same framework of values with which we seek to operate.

We would be delighted to have you partner with us and look forward to meeting you in the near future.

(Mr Andrew J Edwards - Executive Headteacher)

We are especially proud of our most recent Ofsted report (December 2022)

Thank you for taking the time to visit our website.

We are all extremely proud to be part of The Revel family, and recognise what a privilege it is to be able to support our pupils. We strive to prepare them to be responsible, positive members of community and instill aspiration to be the best they can be.

By working together with our pupils, our families and our community, the school provides a broad and rich curriculum, and this support is both welcomed and appreciated.

If you have any questions or would like to know more about our school, please contact school and we will help in any way we can.

Mr Patrick Luke- Head of School

A flavour of Revel

The Revel Primary School is a place where your child will receive a first class education from a hard working and well qualified team of teachers and support staff. Our pupils are valued and challenged academically by caring and committed teachers with high expectations for all.  Our curriculum is carefully designed to enable your child to receive a full and balanced education, rich in experience and adventure.

The relationship between home and school is one of partnership; the co-operation and support between both is essential to your child’s development at school.  Parents and families are a much-valued part of our school community as we work together to help our children thrive.

'The Revel Primary School' was formed through the amalgamation of the small local schools from each of the Revel villages 23 years ago.  As the school has grown, we have developed satellite sites in two of our neighbouring villages, modernising the old village school buildings.  Years 1-6 are based at our main site in Monks Kirby, a beautiful rural location with views over open fields and expansive outdoor space for adventurous learning.  Reception are based in a specially designed Early Years setting in Brinklow and our Early Birds nursery are based at the heart of the village of Harborough Magna.  Whilst our sites may be distanced geographically, our ethos and vision remain the same - all three sites are connected by the same passion to provide excellence for every child in our care.

Our Vision as a Learning Community

"To nurture confidence and curiosity, to equip our children with the skills, qualities and passion needed for life-long learning"

We have eight learning values, which are embedded into our daily classroom routines.  Children are actively taught how to become effective learners through our four 'learning actions' and understand how to be a resilient and ambitious learner through our four 'learning mindsets'.  Children are rewarded for demonstrating these values during the school day, not just by the adults but also by one another as we encourage children to reflect on their own learning skills and enjoy collaborating as part of a learning community.

Our Vision as a Christian Community

"To walk alongside one another as we grow in compassion and service, living our Christian values together"

As a proud Church of England school our ethos and values all contribute to our growth as a Christian learning community.  We have twelve Christian Values, taking each in turn every half term and using this as a focus for our Collective Worship and reflection time.
