Outdoor Learning

'It is I who made the earth, and created man upon it. I stretched out the heavens with My hands and I ordained all their host.' Isaiah 45:12

Revel in the Outdoors!

We believe in integrating Outdoor Learning throughout our children’s school career. It starts at Early Birds Nursery and goes right through to year 6. We run Forest Schools for all year groups all year round - This creates a long term opportunity for children to develop as nature intended. We endeavour to amplify their natural curiosity so they can truly, love to learn!

The Children’s Forest is one of the most engaging classrooms at The Revel. It’s a unique space with 11 acres of deciduous woodland, 2 ponds, fire pit area, music station, mud kitchen and almost endless dens and adventures to discover.

In addition to our Forest School curriculum, we also use Outdoor Learning Days to enrich our engaging curriculum topics. The children spend a day exploring their topics in practical, fun and exciting ways. This may take the form of building a full size Egyptian Shaduf, experiencing a day in the life of a stone age person, joining an Amazonian tribe, re-creating and setting alight a street from the Great Fire of London or finding out what it was like ‘digging for victory’ in WW2 as well as field studies, orienteering, bushcraft skills and much more!

We also offer external CPD through Accredited Forest School and Outdoor Learning leadership Awards, Outdoor Learning Audits and Consultancy for other schools and organisations who have been inspired by what they have seen at The Revel.
