Joining our Nursery

JOINING OUR NURSERY

Children can join Early Birds at the start of the term in which they turn 3.  We are a single room setting with a maximum of 24 places per day and both our pre-school group and the year group below share sessions together, which we feel is a unique and valuable part of what our setting offers.

Places are allocated on receipt of completed registration forms according to availability.  Our Nursery has been over-subscribed for the past couple of years, so we do recommend registering your interest at least 12 months in advance of your preferred start date.  Registration forms are available at the bottom of this page.

At the beginning of the term following your child’s 3rd birthday, you can claim 15 hours, in some cases up to 30 hours, per week of funded childcare through the Government Nursery Education Funding.  Find out more by clicking here.

Places are allocated in accordance with our admissions policy.

Our day is split into a morning and afternoon session with the lunchtime session being a separate element.  Morning session runs from 9am – 12pm and afternoon session runs from 12.30pm – 3.30pm, full days are from 9am – 3.30pm. You can choose any combination of sessions which suit, depending on availability.  We currently have no minimum session requirement.

Uniform at Early Birds is optional and is available to purchase directly through Nursery.

LUNCHTIME – All Nursery children are subject to a lunchtime session fee regardless of the funding they claim, please see Terms and Conditions below.  Children must bring a packed lunch with them as we do not have the facility to offer hot meals.  We encourage parents to send in a selection of healthy items in lunchboxes to support our teaching on healthy lifestyles and please note we are a NUT FREE setting.  Children are offered milk or water to drink while at Nursery, you are of course free to send them with a named drinks bottle if you would like them to have something other than this.

SNACK – Nursery children are offered a snack mid-morning and towards the end of the afternoon.  You do not need to provide this.  We will offer a selection of fruits or vegetables and in the mornings, we have toast.  Children are also provided with milk free of charge.  We ask that you please make sure staff are aware of any food allergies or intolerances.

We look forward to welcoming your child to the Early Birds family.  If you wish to discuss anything further or book a visit, please get in touch.
