Outdoor Learning

“Staff make the most of the school’s expansive and idyllic grounds.”

(Ofsted - December 2022)

Outdoor Learning at The Revel

At The Revel we want to give every child the freedom to explore and discover by giving each year group a safe space to lead their own learning, take risks and have fun! At the Revel we are blessed with a unique and extraordinary woodland site which is being transformed into a magical space for growth and self discovery by the children that use it. They own their experiences and are responsible for themselves, others and the environment which in turn helps them to engage fully in whatever it is they are most interested in by becoming part of the space rather than separate from it. This positively contributes to the whole educational experience at The Revel (Aided) Primary School.

Forest School Aims:

•To support the emotional and social development of children through play and tasks in a forest environment.

•To support the physical development of children through active tasks and games.

•To support the growth of confidence and self-worth of children.

•To encourage children to develop the skills and tools to succeed and be happy.

Through our expert, qualified outdoor learning teacher we are also able to offer the following:

  • Forest School club

  • Forest holiday school

  • Volunteering opportunities

  • Hire of our forest school site and facilities

  • Support to schools in setting up their own outdoor learning space and curriculum

  • CPD in outdoor learning to other schools/organisations

  • Consultancy in all matters relating to outdoor learning
